Your dryer pushes hot, moist air and lint through a vent to the outside. Over time lint sticks to the inside of that vent, and in Florida's humidity it clumps even faster. A clogged vent makes your dryer work harder, wastes energy and is a real fire risk.
How often?
Most homes should clean the dryer vent at least once a year. Large families, long vent runs, vents that exit through the roof, and commercial or shared laundry rooms usually need it every 6 months.
Signs your vent needs cleaning
- Clothes take more than one cycle to dry
- The dryer or laundry room gets very hot
- A burning smell when the dryer runs
- Lint around the outside vent flap, or the flap does not open
- The vent hose behind the dryer is crushed or disconnected
What a professional cleaning includes
We clean the full line from the dryer to the outside, remove lint from inside the machine, check the transition hose and fix bad routing. If the vent is damaged we can repair, re-route or install a new wall box.
